What Our Clients Are Saying!!
Taking your small business from Surviving to Thriving
Why work with us
Small businesses struggle with growing their companies and diversifying their revenues. This limits their ability to hire employees and sustain the company long term.
Small businesses are unaware of the opportunities that government and major corporations offer to hire them in construction, construction-related services, professional or other supportive services.
The few that have heard about doing business with government and major corporations have no clue how to go about gaining access to these opportunities.
lain Consulting praise
Renee Hode, Director, Small Business and Entrepreneurship
LaPronda Spann is extraordinary in her ability to connect, engage and educate. Her expertise is in helping businesses navigate government certifications and the contracting process. I had the pleasure of bringing Lain Consulting in to deliver training for the Small Business Center at South Piedmont Community College and the value and actionable information provided to our business participants exceeded expectations. LaPronda is committed to being a trusted partner in driving small and minority business success in our community!
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with LaPronda & Lain Consulting. The Certification + Capability Statement Package was just what I needed to take my business to the next level.
She understood my business needs and was able to meet me right where I was so that I can achieve my business goals.
The process was seemingly stress-free. I felt really comfortable with the services rendered and would certainly recommend them to any individuals/entities looking to increase business revenue and impact.
Mic Alexander, Business Advisor/Program Director, Carolina Small Business Development Fund
I have the pleasure of collaborating with Ms. Spann as a facilitator for 4 cohorts of our organization’s Inclusive Procurement Training Program – a joint project with the City of Charlotte, Johnson C Smith University and JP Morgan Chase. The 6-week program helps to prepare small businesses for contract opportunities with the City of Charlotte. Ms. Spann’s role is to facilitate a 3-hour workshop focused on developing an impactful capability statement and creating mutually beneficial relationships with large entities. With LaPronda’s facilitation, the project has been an overwhelming success, serving more than 75 graduates to date and entering our fifth cohort.
As the Mecklenburg County Business Advisor and Program Director, I find it imperative to surround myself with professionals who have mastered their areas of expertise. In order for these individuals to support me in my mission at the Carolina Small Business Development Fund, they must also have a certain business aptitude, exceptional communication skills, and ethical standards. Ms. Spann has these qualities and is an invaluable part of my support team. I find her to be an excellent facilitator, trainer, and consultant.
Vilma D. Leake, District 2 Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners
In her role as moderator, Ms. Spann was able to skillfully manage the timeliness and flow of the meetings. She ensured that the audience remained engaged and the speakers remained on track. As the team leader, she remained consistent in meeting, communicating and collaborating with those who worked alongside of her. She also appeared before the Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners in March and December 2019 to share information about the Small Business Consortium and the Global Wealth Exchange.
Ms. Spann has been outstanding in every area that I have requested, and I fully support her.
As the owner, LaPronda Spann leverages over 21 years of local, state, and federal grants and contracting experience and has led the firm in the successful procurement of $1.8 million in grants and contracts for the company and its clients.
Ms. Spann currently serves as the moderator of Mecklenburg County Commissioner Vilma D. Leake’s Small Business Consortium. LaPronda has also served as a moderator for the session, “Doing Business with the City of Charlotte” at the Black Enterprise Entrepreneur’s Conference in June 2018.
